Singapore Back Holds Exhibition of Traditional Medicines

Once again, Singapore plays host to prestigious events, Traditional Medicine Expo (TMExpo) 2010. Mentioned, TMExpo 2010 is a forum for organizations, so that they can display the latest products and services at this event. Regional Director for ASEAN (I) and Oceania Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Chooi Yee Choong explained, the exhibition itself will take place at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore, for three days at 15 to 17 October 2010. "This event is open to the general public and businesses, and is expected to attract participants from around the world," he told reporters, during a press conference held at Hotel Le Meridien, Jakarta, Tuesday (6 / 7).

Explained Chooi, 2010 TMExpo themselves ready to become an instrument in this field, with an important role in accelerating the modernization of traditional medicine and strengthen regional cooperation, in order to encourage the growth of the industry both in local and regional context. Chooi said the success of the inaugural TMExpo last year alone, a record 90 exhibitors of which 99 percent admitted that their goal is achieved, even exceeded expectations. Around 7181 local entrepreneurs and foreign visitors, it was noted coming from the Middle East (2 percent), Europe / Asia (3 percent) and Asia (95 percent).

"This amount has attracted the attention of the world, where traditional medicine is now known as alternative medicine. We highly recommend, and will also welcome business people, entrepreneurs, to take part in this exhibition," he added.

Meanwhile, to be known, according to World Health Organization (WHO), the global market for traditional medicine currently has to exceed USD 60 billion per year, and continues to grow with stability. Currently, Asia is also recognized excellence in sales globally. Exhibitors this year alone mentioned will come from Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States.
